It's the most wonderful time of the year! LOL Let the chocolate deals roll!!
Looking for alternatives to EATING all that candy?
If you are wondering what to do with all that Halloween candy this year (sorry folks, I am really struggling with this idea! LOL)......Okay, If you are wondering what you can do with all the candy that did NOT pass grade and make it into your secret stash in the pantry (y'all know, those nasty hard candies, the peanut butter taffy in those orange and black wrappers, the licorice bits, the stuff from the weird neighbors, basically all the non-chocolate items!)......
You can be rid of it all through the Halloween Candy Buy Back Program!
Dentists around the country are offering to "buy back" your child's Halloween candy and send the loot to troops stationed overseas!
- Go HERE to search for a participating dentist in your area
- Kiddos can bring in their stash, or maybe parents can bring it in for the "Candy Fairy"?
- Kids (or sneaky parents) can get cash or prizes!
One of the dental chains in my area is paying $1/lb. up to 5 lbs.!
The Boy is not a fan of the sweets beyond an M&M or two. So last Halloween, after we finished our neighborhood Trick Or Treating, a small Trunk Or Treat event, and the school carnival, I sorted through his loot and weeded out all the sketchy stuff and just tossed it - things that were homemade, had wrappers partially opened, or just didn't look right. I let him choose a few things that he would like to keep for later (I think we tried "one piece a day after lunch" until he lost interest and then everything left was chucked), made a pile of daddy's faves, and a chocolate stash for "mommy breaks" in the pantry. Whatever. The rest of the haul went into a basket that I set out on the porch for all the crazy teenagers that came way late in the evening!
Looking for alternatives to passing out candy?
Here are some great deals on non-edible Trick Or Treat items! The Boy is NOT a fan of sweets and we have spent many Halloweens searching the treat bag for something he would enjoy - usually a small can of Play-Doh, stickers, or a pencil - before dumping the sugary stash in the trash.
We don't have a cheap party supply store in our town anymore, so these prices are pretty good, and they'll ship free with Prime!
Please note these items may ship from overseas and could take a while to arrive! Most Amazon orders ship FREE with a purchase of $35 or more or with Amazon Prime! Don't have Amazon Prime? See how you can sign up for a FREE 30-Day Trial!
